At SLW the health and safety of all our residents and staff is paramount, and as such, following government advice we are closed to non-essential visiting.
We would like you to know that we are monitoring the situation extremely closely and as a team we are following all advice from Public Health England, and ensuring best hygiene practices are in place and are followed.
We appreciate these are worrying times, but this decision and these measures are essential to protect us all.
We will keep you all updated with any changes.
An essential visit is one where it is imperative that a friend or relative is allowed to see their loved one in the circumstances where their loved one may be dying or where they may help to ease significant personal distress.
For detailed information about our visiting policy and measures taken to ensure the safety of all residents, staff and visitors, take a look, download our Visiting Policy.
We are pleased to announce that we will begin offer rapid testing which will provide some meaningful internal visits for you and your relative who is in our care. We anticipate that testing will be available from 2nd December (facilities, equipment and training allowing).
Initially, we will be allowing each resident two internal visits per week which can be by two different family members. All visitors must be tested prior to every visit which will occur on-site. Visits will be limited to 30 minutes and only one per resident at any time. No children under the age of 18 will be allowed, and where possible, visits will take place in a communal designated area.
